Taipei, as the capital, is the home of Taiwan Pride. It's an annual celebration joined by groups all over the country. It's also the largest Pride celebration in Asia, with hundreds of thousands of people participating in the celebrations. Taiwan Pride takes up four days with special events and circuit parties taking place all over the city. The Saturday Pride Parade takes place around Taipei City Hall. The procession is largely a social movement. Parade-goers share the streets and sidewalks with non-paraders and cars, drawing people from the streets to join in.
